GLENDYNE BECOMES A MEMBER OF THE SELECT NF MARK CLUB !

 

Saint-Marc-du-Lac-Long, December 15, 2005 - On December 1st 2005, the French standards organization, AFAQ/AFNOR, has authorized the Glendyne slate quarry to use the NF certification mark on its La Canadienne and La Québécoise slates.

 

The NF mark certifies that La Canadienne and La Québécoise products as well as the quality control system implemented for their production comply with the NF EN 12326-1 rules and standard.

 

The slate quarry at Saint-Marc-du-Lac-Long in Quebec, Canada thus becomes the third slate quarry and the first slate quarry outside Europe to be authorized to use the NF mark on its products.

 

 

GLENDYNE INC. CELEBRATES ITS 10TH ANNIVERSARY

 

Saint-Marc-du-Lac-Long, September 12, 2005 ?  Some 900 guests took part in the celebrations marking the tenth anniversary of the Glendyne Inc. quarry.   

 
In the morning, approximately 450 people from the Lower St. Lawrence and New Brunswick regions visited the facilities of this international company operating a slate quarry and processing plant at Saint-Marc-du-Lac-Long in Temiscouata.

In the evening, Glendyne welcomed some 450 guests under a huge tent.  Among the distinguished guests were the Quebec Minister of Economic Development, Innovation, and Export, Claude Béchard. 

 

Founded in 1995, Glendyne Inc. has experienced a huge expansion over the past ten years. Staff has multiplied sixfold to reach 275 employees making it the most significant private sector employer in the Temiscouata RCM.   The company's slate production volume has also increased dramatically, multiplying twenty times to reach 20,000 tons per year. 
 
Glendyne Inc. is now gearing toward technological conversion to meet with globalization. The slate quarry is investing five million dollars in state-of-the-art equipment. Modernization of the plant should be completed by the end of 2006.
